Dr. Schulman holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineeringfrom Cornell University, and his B.E. in Chemical Engineering from the CityCollege of New York. Dr. Schulman’s academic research focused on transport phenomena, advanced fluid-solid processing, and nanomaterial science, providing a strong foundation in experimental design and data interpretation.
Dr. Schulman’s experience in forensic investigation includes residential and industrial fire scenes, explosion incidents, and hazardous material releases, with a focus on origin-and-cause determination, failure mechanism evaluation, and reconstruction of thermal and process-driven events. Dr. Schulman has conducted dozens of investigations involving flammable liquids and gases, dust explosion hazards, equipment malfunctions, and deviations from recognized and generally accepted engineering practices. Dr. Schulman applies rigorous principles of thermal science, fluid mechanics, combustion, and process safety to analyze complex loss events and develop technically defensible opinions for litigation, regulatory, and insurance matters.
Dr. Schulman is a certified fire and explosion investigator through the national association of fire investigators and hold a 40-HAZWOPER Certification through OSHA. Dr. Schulman has training and experience in incident investigation, scene documentation, and evidence collection.
