Explico (eks-plí-cō) is a Latin word, which means to unfold, unfurl, disentangle, and solve.

Explico delivers premium scientific and engineering services in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, human factors, and visualization, including railroad, fire & explosion, mechanical failure analysis, and marine accident reconstruction. We analyze evidence using industry accepted tools and techniques combined with state-of-the-art technology with a goal of conveying our findings in simple, concise terms.

Our multidisciplinary team consists of accomplished experts who have practical experience in research, analysis, and testimony.

We serve clients nationwide from our Detroit, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Seattle and Salt Lake City office locations.

History

In 2013, Brian Weaver created Explico. It soon became apparent that it would take some help from his former colleagues if the vision of Explico was going to be realized. In 2014, Steve Rundell and Charlie Funk joined Explico. At this point, Explico was well-equipped to offer services in Traffic Accident Reconstruction and Biomechanics. In 2015, Steve Arndt joined the group, bringing his 20+ years of Human Factors expertise to Explico. In 2018, the Accident Reconstruction practice expanded to include Marine Accident Reconstruction, led by Wendy Sanders. At the onset of 2022, Explico merged with Luminous Forensics' Nathan Rose, Neal Carter, and Justin Holderness, from Denver, Colorado, expanding the Accident Reconstruction practice. Explico has grown to over 50 full-time personnel and expanded the capabilities offered and regions served. While Explico is much larger and more diverse than it was back in 2013, our vision has never changed - provide excellent service to our clients by pushing technological boundaries and communicating our findings effectively.

Our craft is not a commodity that can simply be scaled to maximize profit. Our intent is to remain employee owned, to operate with the highest level of integrity and ethics, to pursue the health and growth of our employees and their families, and to elevate the entire profession.
