Megan BLand, Ph.D.


Dr. Bland’s expertise is in the forensic investigation of accidents and the traumatic injuries they produce. She has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University as well as a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

In her graduate work, Dr. Bland conducted research in the Center for Injury Biomechanics at Virginia Tech. Her dissertation focused on reconstructing cyclist crashes and evaluating the efficacy of bicycle helmets in mitigating traumatic head and brain injury risk. Additionally, she assessed the injury potential associated with various sports and unmanned aircraft systems using on-field and laboratory biomechanical techniques.
