Mr. Silva is a Research Engineer and Crash Reconstructionist at Explico Engineering. He is involved in the analysis and reconstruction of automotive, heavy truck/bus, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian collisions including the analysis of data from passenger and commercial vehicle Event Data Recorders (EDR). He is also involved in computer-aided design to produced three-dimensional diagrams, models, simulation, and video re-creations, which are used to analyze vehicles, vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-pedestrian interactions and collision analysis.
Mr. Silva performs inspections and documents accident scenes and vehicles. Having experience with Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR), he can retrieve and analyze collision data from airbag and powertrain control modules. He can also collect and preserve data from heavy vehicles such as event data recorders, engine control modules, anti-lock brake sensor modules, and other components pertaining to heavy vehicles.
