Despite numerous peer-reviewed studies involving injury potential during rear-end impacts, none have specifically dealt with the risk of head injury. Careful evaluation and analysis of multiple crash tests was performed in order to evaluate the risk of closed head injury during moderate-to-severe rear-end collisions. Results from this study were presented at the World Congress of Biomechanics in Boston, MA.
